Advocacy Training - Drafting before the International Tribunals
On Saturday 12 November, a panel discussed and offered practical training on drafting before the international tribunals – through the stages of an international criminal case; pre-trial, trial and appeal. All panelists had a wealth of experience before the majority of the international tribunals and were well placed to offer advice and strategic guidance on successful drafting approaches. In addition, all counsel received rigorous training on drafting through their domestic bar courses and obligations.
The half-day training was conducted by Natalie von Wistinghausen (Counsel, STL), Catriona Murdoch (Barrister, 1 Crown Office Row), Sarah Bafadhel (Barrister, 9 Bedford Row, STL) and Joe Holmes (Barrister, 9 Bedford Row, ICTY and MICT).
